Tom Brady believes Argentina's 3-2 World Cup win over Egypt 'might top' Patriots' 28-3 comeback vs. Falcons

The New England Patriots, back in 2018, had one of the wildest comebacks in professional sports history, as Tom Brady and the Patriots came storming back from down 28-3 in the third quarter to win the Super Bowl over the Atlanta Falcons.

It's easily one of the craziest comebacks in NFL history, and it's one of the best comebacks in professional sports history as well. But now, there might be a game to match such a wild comeback.

During the Argentina and Egypt FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match, down 2-0 very late in the game, Argentina came back and won 3-2. After such a wild win, Tom Brady posted on Twitter/x that this win might actually top the Patriots' 28-3 comeback.

"Yeah so that might top 28-3," Brady shared on social media. Such a reaction in the moment shows just how wild a game this was between Argentina and Egypt.

The Patriots' 28-3 comeback win was the largest deficit ever overcome in Super Bowl history, and it came with a little over two minutes to go in the third quarter.

Brady and the Patriots had roughly 17 or so minutes of game-time, plus the eventual overtime period (first ever in Super Bowl history) to mount their comeback.

Argentina and Lionel Messi were down 2-0 to Egypt after a goal in the 67th minute. Then, 12 minutes later, Christian Romero scored a goal to make it 2-1, which kick-started the comeback.

Messi scored the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute, and in the 92nd minute, with extra time added, Enzo Fernandez scored the go-ahead goal, which was the game-winner.

Both teams made a torrid comeback with little time left in the game that might've seemed impossible not long after the lead was built.

And just like how the Patriots and Brady used some extra time in overtime to win their match, Argentina used the extra time in the match to score their third goal and beat Egypt in one of the best matches of the World Cup.

Tom Brady believes the 3-2 Argentina comeback win over Egypt "might top" the Patriots' and his own, 28-3 comeback win over the Falcons. Patriots fans might disagree, but there's no denying that both of these comebacks are all-timers in sports history.
