Titans make final decision on trading No. 1 pick, per NFL insider

After months of research, meetings and prospect visits, the Tennessee Titans officially have a plan for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite there being some genuine trade interest from teams looking to move up to the top spot in the draft order, the Titans have reportedly made the decision to stay put at No. 1 overall rather than trade out, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Rapoport also reported Tuesday morning that the expectation is that Miami quarterback Cam Ward will be the selection.

"After months of speculation, the consensus around the league is that the #Titans will stay at No. 1 and pick, rather than trade, sources say. No surprise. Decision made," Rapoport wrote on X. "There was real trade interest. But as one team said, 'They never opened the door.' All eyes on Cam Ward."

This is no surprise, and it was expected that general manager Mike Borgonzi was leaning this way. Even after receiving trade offers from other teams, it was clear which way Tennessee was leaning considering the way they went about free agency.

The Titans still have third-year quarterback Will Levis under contract, but the moves they made to beef up the offensive line without making any major additions to the quarterback room was a clear signal they were expecting to stay put.

Barring a major surprise, the Titans will establish a new direction with Ward under center as they look to get back into the competition within the AFC South.
