Titans' Cam Ward gets awful prediction for Week 2 matchup vs. Eagles

The Tennessee Titans lost to the New York Jets in Week 1 of the 2026 season. It was a rough loss for the Titans, as their defense didn't look very good, and their offense against a weak Jets defense wasn't all that impressive either.

Cam Ward hasn't looked like he's made much progress, and there is some real concern about how Ward will play moving forward. Unfortunately, he goes up against a very difficult Philadelphia Eagles defense in Week 2.

ESPN's Seth Walder shared a bold prediction for Ward's Week 2 matchup, and it's an awful one for Ward. Walder is predicting Ward will throw not one, not two, and maybe even not three interceptions against the Eagles in what would be an awful performance.

"Ward will throw at least three interceptions," Walder predicts. "Ward is coming off a rough start to the season, as the Titans ranked third in pass rate over expected, per NFL Next Gen Stats."

Ward throwing three-plus interceptions in one game would be absolutely brutal. The one thing he's done a decent job of during his NFL career so far, despite the lower passing totals, has been a lack of interceptions.

He wasn't picked off once during Week 1 against the Jets, and last season, on 540 pass attempts, he was picked off just seven times, never more than once in a single game.

Ward has played poorly in games plenty of times, but he's refrained from being a turnover-prone QB, especially when it comes to interceptions.

But Walder is predicting Ward will struggle in Week 2 against a strong Eagles defense. The Titans are likely to be down big in this game, which will lead Ward to throw the ball often.

The Eagles have a great pass rush from both the edge rushers and interior lineman, and their players in coverage are also elite.

Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Riq Woolen, Zack Baun, and Jihaad Campbell are going to be tough players to beat in pass coverage this week for Ward.

Still, Walder predicting that Ward will throw "at least" three interceptions in this one game is probably a step too far.

Ward is more likely than not going to struggle, but a three-interception game, let alone two in one game, would be the worst game of his career, which would be surprising.
