Embattled actor Timothy Busfield passed an “independent polygraph” test, his lawyers said Wednesday as he appeared in New Mexico court for the first time on disturbing allegations he sexually abused two young boys on the set of a FOX show he directed.
The “West Wing” star, who is charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse, took a voluntary lie detector test as he continues to maintain he’s innocent, his lawyer said.
“Tim Busfield denies the allegations in the criminal complaint and maintains they are completely false,” the 68-year-old’s lawyer, Larry Stein, said in a statement to The Post Wednesday.
“As a voluntary step, he submitted to an independent polygraph examination regarding those allegations and passed.”
The “Field of Dreams” actor turned himself in to the Albuquerque Police Department after cops alleged he engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with 11-year-old twin boys while directing “The Cleaning Lady” in New Mexico in 2024.
He appeared in an orange prison grab and entered no plea during his first court appearance Wednesday.
Ahead of his arrest, Busfield insisted the accusations were “all lies” and he “did not do anything to those little boys” in a video message Stein shared with TMZ.
“They are all lies and I did not do anything to those little boys,” he said.
“And I’m going to fight it. I’m going to fight it with a great team, and I’m going to be exonerated. I know I am because this is all so wrong and all lies.”
Busfield, who is married to former child star Melissa Gilbert, is accused of inappropriately touching one of the boys three or four times, and the other five or six times, according to the warrant.
The alleged abuse began in 2022, when the boys were 7 years old, according to a warrant issued on Friday by authorities.
A criminal investigation began in 2024 when a physician notified police about suspected sexual abuse after examining one of the children at the University of New Mexico Hospital, according to the complaint.
Attorneys for Warner Bros., which produced “The Cleaning Lady,” told cops that a prior independent investigation into the allegations found no evidence to support the claims, the complaint alleged.
Stein told The Post the alarming allegations were driven by revenge.
Stein claimed the boys’ mother told an actress on the New Mexico set she wanted payback after her sons were cut from the show’s final season.
But the “Revenge of the Nerds” actor was hit with new allegations by a third alleged victim Wednesday.
Busfield is accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl “several years ago” in Sacramento, California, by prosecutors in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, in a new motion filed Wednesday.
He is currently being held without bond at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque.
