"Time to end this embarrassing mess": Fans want Deion Sanders fired after Colorado's humiliating loss to Arizona

The losses continue to pile up for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes this season. On Saturday, they suffered a disappointing 52-17 loss at home at the hands of the Arizona Wildcats. This loss put Coach Prime's team on a two-game losing streak, along with a 3-6 record after nine games.

Fans are unhappy with what transpired on Folsom Field on Saturday. They demanded that the Buffs fire Deion Sanders as the head coach and bring in a suitable replacement.

"Deion Sanders needs to do the right thing and step aside at seasons end. Announce it soon. He isn't earning the money now & is checked out since his health issues & son being gone. Time to end this embarrassing mess soon," one fan commented. "Colorado is a joke fire Deion Sanders fire offensive coordinator fire defensive coordinator immediately back to back weeks blowout lost," another fan said. "Might have to fire Deion Sanders simply for continuing to start Kaidon Salter and not JuJu. This is getting ridiculous," this fan stated. "That's an embarrassing effort tonight for Deion and the boys in Boulder," another fan wrote "Deion needs to just retire. This is getting embarrassing," one fan said. "@RickGerogeCU On behalf of cu fans we r PLEADING WITH YOU FIRE DEION SANDER," this fan commented.

Coach Prime took over the Buffs, who finished 1-11 a year before his arrival. During his debut campaign in 2023, he led them to a 4-8 record. He improved on this performance last season, helping the program to a 9-4 record and an Alamo Bowl appearance, where they lost to the BYU Cougars.

After the end of the season, Sanders lost several of his talents to this year's NFL draft. This included his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, and 2024 Heisman winner Travis Hunter. The Buffs provided Coach Prime with a five-year extension worth $54 million before the start of the season in March.

Deion Sanders takes full responsibility for the 52-17 loss against the Arizona Wildcats

After Saturday's showdown, Coach Prime did not allow his players to talk with the media. He took sole responsibility for the loss and asked fans not to blame the players and the coaching staff.

"I'm telling you, it's on me," Coach Prime said. "Criticize me. I've been criticized when I came out of the womb. ... So, it's one me. But I know what the situation is. I know what the problem is, and I'll fix it.

The Buffs will next face the West Virginia Mountaineers next Saturday at noon ET.
