The Minnesota Timberwolves had an overload on their roster of centers.
So they cleared one out on Friday.
The Timberwolves will be cutting ties with center Jesse Edwards, according to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski.
Edwards is a 6-foot-11 big guy out of the Netherlands.
He spent his college career with Syracuse and then at West Virginia.
Edwards went undrafted in 2024 but signed with the Timberwolves after the draft on a two-way deal.
Minnesota only used Edwards in two NBA games for very short stints.

He was great in the G League with the Iowa Wolves, though.
Edwards averaged 11.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game with the G League Wolves.
He played with the Timberwolves in Summer League this year, too, but the writing was on the wall.
The Timberwolves drafted Joan Beringer and Rocco Zikarsky, two centers. Edwards fell behind them in the pecking order.
Minnesota has a crowded frontcourt of established stars, too, with Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle and Naz Reid.
Edwards has solid touch, runs the floor well and is a great rim protector. He's got a chance to stick around somewhere in the G League or even on the fringes of the NBA.
It just doesn't sound like Minnesota will be a part of Edwards' future right now.
The Timberwolves signed Enrique Freeman to a two-way deal on Friday, part of the reason Edwards was then let go rather than keeping him on his current two-way contract. Minnesota didn't need the additional size given the height on its full roster already.
