Bones Hyland used to play for the Denver Nuggets, but they traded him away. Two subsequent moves brought him to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
That made Thursday night feel great for Hyland, whose Wolves knocked the Nuggets out of the playoffs.
Hyland was feeling so good about it that he posted this incredible piece of content on his social media accounts:

It's not out of character at all for an athlete to respond to what felt like a slight with some bragging after things go well in their new place.
It's just funny after how Hyland played in the decisive Game 6.
Bones got just nine minutes, missed all three of his shots, and split a trip to the line. He had one point in the clincher.
He was better earlier in the series, with 15 points in Game 5 and 13 points in Game 2.
Given that the Timberwolves were shorthanded because of injury, Hyland was legitimately called upon to play key minutes, and he mostly came through, even if he was quiet in Game 6.

Hyland was actually part of a four-team trade in Feb. 2023 that brought him to the Los Angeles Clippers in a trade with almost no significant names -- although it did include a pick going to the Lakers that eventually turned into Bronny James.
He then went from the Clippers to the Hawks in a deal involving Bogdan Bogdanovic to L.A. (with Terance Mann also to Atlanta).
The Hawks waived him two days later, and he signed a two-way contract with the Wolves later that month.
A year later, the Timberwolves are moving on, and Hyland rubbed it in the face of his former team.
