Tim Tszyu vs. Joey Spencer undercard: Complete list of fights before main event in 2025 boxing match

23 hours ago 1

Tim Tszyu is ready to start a new chapter of his career when the former champion returns to action on April 5 (April 6 in Australia) to face Joey Spencer. The fight in New South Wales airs on Kayo in Australia and Amazon Prime in the U.S.

It is an important fight for Tszyu (24-2), the former WBO super welterweight champion on a two-fight losing streak. The Sydney-born fighter, son of Kostya Tszyu, lost a bloody affair against Sebastian Fundora and was recently decimated by Bakhram Murtazaliev.

Given proper time to heal and refocus, Tszyu looks to start fresh in his first fight in Newcastle since 2021.

"It's sink or swim," Tszyu said via ESPN. "This is my redemption tour. I'm coming back stronger, hungrier, and ready to prove a point. I'm here to make a statement. If I have to walk through fire to get back on top, so be it. This is what I live for."

A multi-time National Champion, Spencer (19-1) is on a three-fight win streak. With 11 wins via knockout, the American has gone from competing on the undercard of Tszyu fights to facing the man himself. He's ready to make the most of the opportunity in front of him.

"For me, I want to go to the next level, so I have to get this win," Spencer said. "You only get so many opportunities in boxing, so when you're in the position that Tim is in, you've got to make sure you get back in that winners' track. It's important for both of us, and it's going to bring the best out of both of us."

Local fighters, rising stars, and former title contenders look to impress on the undercard.
