TikTok comedian Steve Bridges, known for his viral POV-style sketches, has died at age 41. His wife, Chelsey Bridges, confirmed the news in an emotional video shared to his Instagram on October 17.
Chelsey told followers that her husband had “died peacefully in his sleep” on October 15. Through tears, she said, “I’m really sorry to get on and tell you this, this way. I think if I wait any longer, I’m not going to be able to do it.”
The couple had been married for 16 years and shared three children.
Bridges built a devoted audience of more than 2 million followers across TikTok and Instagram with his comedic, relatable sketches — re-enacting everyday scenarios and portraying exaggerated characters like “baby daddies” and “solar panel salesmen.”
Chelsey frequently appeared in his videos, often playing alongside her husband in his popular POV bits.
“Who you saw online was just the characters that he created,” she said. “He was so talented because he was the opposite of all of them.”
She added that behind the jokes, Steve was “the most attentive father, and the best, the best husband. And the greatest, sweetest man.”
“Thanks to you internet,” Chelsey said, “he’s been able to live his dream of making people laugh. I am so thankful that he got to do that.”
Chelsey also urged kindness in the wake of his passing, noting that their children would likely see comments online. “I’m not going to tell my children that they can’t grieve online,” she said. “I will probably grieve online too. This is life now. Please never take it for granted and try to live your dreams every day. Love your family and take care of yourself.”
Fans flooded the comment section with messages of grief and gratitude.
“I am SO very sorry for your loss. As a healthcare worker I absolutely loved his characters because they were SO real,” one person wrote.
Another added, “The world got a little darker. He really was my favorite content creator. Glad to experience his comedy.”
