The Detroit Tigers are still fighting for the division title in the AL Central. The Cleveland Guardians are starting to make a push after sweeping the Tigers in a three-game series earlier this week.
Entering Friday, Detroit's lead in the division has narrowed down to just 3.5 games as they are set to take on the Atlanta Braves.
Before the start of their weekend series, Detroit activated one of its most reliable bullpen pitchers.
Tigers activate RHP Kyle Finnegan from the 15-day IL
Relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan was placed on the injured list after sustaining a right adductor strain. He was activated from the injured list after appearing in just one rehab game in Triple-A Toledo, striking out one batter and walking another over two-thirds of an inning.
The Tigers optioned relief pitcher Bailey Horn to Triple-A to open up a roster spot for Finnegan, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press announced.

The 34-year-old Detroit native was acquired in a trade with the Washington Nationals during the MLB trade deadline. Since making his first appearance for the Tigers on Aug. 2, he's appeared in 12 games, tallying a 3-0 record, and has yet to give up a run in 14.1 innings pitched.
Finnegan will hopefully help the Tigers get back on track after losing six of their last seven games.
