Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI, Refusing Drug Test in Rollover Car Crash
Tiger Woods’ legal woes are ongoing.
Following the pro golfer’s March 27 arrest for driving under the influence in Jupiter Island, Fla., his mugshot was released by the Martin Country Sheriff’s Office, where the 50-year-old can be seen looking into the camera with a straight face.
The photo’s release comes after Woods was arrested and charged following a rollover car crash at around 2 p.m. local time.
“Our DUI investigators came to the scene here, and Mr. Woods did exemplify signs of impairment,” Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said in a press conference. “They did do some in depth roadside tests. And when it was determined, he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail.”
Though Budensiek explained that his team was not “suspicious of alcohol being involved in this case,” he believed the golfer to be impaired by a medication or other drug due to his “lethargic” demeanor.
“Mr. Woods did a breathalyzer test, blew triple zeros, but when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused,” the sheriff continued, “and so he's been charged with DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test."
And Budensiek noted that authorities may never get answers as to what caused Woods’ impairment.
“He has a right to refuse that test,” he continued. “There is a Florida statute which he will be charged with for refusing to take that test, but we will never get definitive results as to what he was impaired on at the time of the crash.”
E! News has reached out to a rep for Woods for comment but has not yet heard back.

The collision occurred as the athlete—dad to kids Charlie Woods, 17, and Sam Woods, 18 with ex Elin Nordegren—drove his Land Rover at an accelerated speed on a two-lane road, per Budensiek. As he attempted to overtake a pickup truck, he ended up clipping the other vehicle, resulting in his car being flipped on its side. No injuries were reported.
Following the incident, the sheriff noted that Woods was able to “crawl out of the passenger door of the car.”
On the scene, Woods told officers about his health history, with the sheriff saying, “He did explain the injuries and the surgeries that he had. We did take that into account, but they did do some in depth roadside tests.”
