The miracle Pacers have done it again, mounting another improbable upset in Game 6 to force a winner-take-all Game 7 against the Thunder in Oklahoma City. The Sunday evening tilt has been one of the hottest tickets in sports since well before Indy extended the series to seven, with fans far and wide excited to be a part of history.
OKC has been the best team in basketball the entire season. League MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and All-Star Jalen Williams guided the Thunder to an NBA-best 68 wins, and they have proceeded to go 15-7 in the postseason. They're also 45-8 at Paycom Center since the start of their historic 2024-25 campaign.
But Rick Carlisle's Pacers never give up. Pascal Siakam has provided Indy with the same grit and scoring chops he lent to the 2019 championship Raptors. Tyrese Haliburton has been playing through a calf injury, toughing it out for his squad like a true leader. T.J. McConnell and Obi Toppin have brought the intensity all postseason. Myles Turner defends the rim and shoots like a new-school center. And plenty of young role players have been x-factors in big wins.
Of course, the Thunder have a potent supporting cast beyond SGA and JDub. Chet Holmgren has introduced his shot-blocking, rebound-grabbing and clutch-scoring to the masses. Lu Dort, Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace have been locking down defenders the entire playoffs. Mark Daigneault has one of the best teams we've seen in the 21st century.
