Three bold predictions for Lane Kiffin's return between LSU vs. Ole Miss

The biggest college football game that was announced this offseason is now here.

Lane Kiffin, who shunned the Ole Miss Rebels despite taking them to the College Football Playoff, returns to Oxford with his new, fancy and expensive team hoping to show Rebels fans why he left.

After demolishing the Clemson Tigers 51-10 in their first game, LSU looked bad, despite getting the win in Week 2 against Louisiana Tech. Even though the Tigers won the game 45-14, Sam Leavitt threw for 3 interceptions and showed his up and down nature.

So, what can we expect from the game tonight? That is what we are here to discuss with three bold predictions for Kiffin's homecoming.

Trinidad Chambliss combines for 400 yards passing and rushing with 3 TDs

Kiffin wanted Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy to come with him to LSU. They both refused, showing a loyalty which Kiffin does not possess.

Chambliss will make his former coach pay tonight as he attempts to embarrass Kiffin upon his return to The Grove.

Not only will he throw for more than 300 yards, but Chambliss will also run the ball enough to get to 400 total yards, and he will have a rushing TD to go along with one scored by Lacy.

LSU will win the turnover battle

Both teams will come out a bit shaky. Sure, this is a big day for Kiffin. But it is also a massive day for Ole Miss as a university and a fanbase. Nerves will be high, and it takes a while for everyone to get settled in. There may not be a lot of turnovers in the game, the nerves might show up more in penalties, but of the turnovers which do occur, more of them will come from Ole Miss.

Ole Miss wins the game at the last minute

Both teams are good. That is why LSU is ranked No. 7 and Ole Miss No. 8 in the current AP Top 25 Poll. So, thinking this will be a close game is not bold.

Many people watched LSU beat up Clemson in Week 1, while Ole Miss had a challenge against Louisville. Without realizing that this year's Clemson is not the program is was five years ago, the perception that this was a huge win for LSU has taken hold.

The truth is, LSU has not been challenged at all this season, while Ole Miss did have the Louisville game to better prepare them for this showdown.

When the game gets down to the end and the score is tight, Ole Miss will be more reliable than LSU and this will lead to the Rebels coming out of this game with the win.

The student will become the teacher and Kiffin will need to repeat his previous exit from Oxford with a hasty retreat and hundreds of excuses ready to go.

The long-awaited game between Ole Miss and LSU is finally here. No more pregame chatter and back and forth between both sides. It's time to lay it all on the line. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
