ONE Championship megastar Superbon temporarily traded the Circle for reality television, and the experience opened his eyes to a completely different type of competition.

Before the striking wizard defends his ONE featherweight kickboxing world title against interim titleholder Masaaki Noiri in a unification bout that headlines ONE 173 inside the majestic Ariake Arena on Sunday, Nov. 16, the 35-year-old Thai megastar reflected on his recent appearance on Netflix's Physical: Asia.

In a pre-fight interview with ONE Championship, the Bangkok-based athlete opened up about how the opportunity came together and why the format appealed to him despite having no acting aspirations.

"The production team reached out to me and invited me to compete. I had watched the first season of Physical: 100, so I sat down with the team to talk about filming for the show in Korea. I immediately thought, 'Wow, this is something new and fun!' Plus, it's not acting, it's a competition where you use your physical potential, which is what I'm naturally good at," Superbon told the promotion.

The reigning featherweight kickboxing king's willingness to step outside his comfort zone demonstrates a fighter who embraces new challenges beyond traditional martial arts competition.

"Honestly, if they asked me to act in a drama, I'd probably say no because I'm not good at it. But this felt like a sports competition they were filming as we competed, so I felt like, 'Yeah, this is exciting' because it really utilizes your physical abilities and it's not fixed to one specific sport. So, I wanted to give it a try and joined them," he continued.

For the Superbon Training Camp founder, the variety of challenges featured on Physical: Asia allowed him to showcase his athleticism beyond what fans are familiar with on the global stage of ONE Championship.

Superbon says KO of Masaaki Noiri at ONE 173 will make for a "perfect victory"

In a separate interview with the world's largest martial arts organization, Superbon declared that securing a highlight-reel win over Masaaki Noiri will be the perfect way to announce his return inside the Circle.

"The fight is going to be entertaining, and I probably can do what I expect to do. I am sure I can earn this victory. And ending the fight with a knockout would make it a perfect victory," Superbon continued.

His world title unification clash against the Japanese warrior will headline ONE 173 inside the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, Nov. 16. Combat sports enthusiasts can purchase their PPV passes for the spectacle here.
