Jaylen Brown's fake hairline has been a running gag of the 2025-26 NBA season. On Thursday, the Boston Celtics star was trolled again, this time by 76ers mascot Franklin the Dog, sending NBA fans into a frenzy online.
During the live broadcast, the 76ers mascot playfully stepped out of Brown’s way, as if trying to avoid getting smudged by his hairline spray. The moment quickly went viral after Brick Center shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter).
"Mascot didn’t want Jaylen Brown’s black hair dye on his shirt 😭😭😭," Bricks Center captioned the post.•

@BrickCenter_ would of been hilarious if he wiped his head with a white towel 😆
@BrickCenter_ Mascot doesn’t want ANY part of Jaylen Brown’s black hair dye💀
However, a few fans were not happy with the mascot and sided with Brown.

@BrickCenter_ We got mascots clip farming now 🤦🏻♂️
Jaylen Brown has been the butt of jokes, with the Celtics star going viral over his use of hairspray to conceal his receding hairline. The trolling first took off during the Celtics’ trip to New York in October, when Brown accidentally smudged OG Anunoby’s jersey after brushing his head against the defender during a play.
However, this wasn't the only time Brown's hairline grabbed headlines this season. Earlier this month, his spray-on lineup smudged again during a game against the Washington Wizards, with Khyshawn George becoming the latest victim.
Despite the jokes about his hairline, Brown’s play on the court hasn’t dipped. In Jayson Tatum's absence, the guard has become the focal point of Boston's attack and has stepped up to the plate.
He’s averaging 27.0 points (12th in the league), along with 5.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists, while shooting 51.5% from the field.
Jaylen Brown blames "AI" after another on-court hairline mishap
Jaylen Brown's hair struggles have become common knowledge during the season, with the Celtics star's alleged use of hair spray becoming apparent with each game. His latest mishap came during the Wizards’ visit to TD Garden, when his spray-on hairline smudged onto Khyshawn George.
While George appeared to point at the mark and smile during the game, Brown brushed off the moment afterward, claiming the clip was AI-generated.
"AI is getting outta hand," Brown said via X (formerly Twitter)This tweet elicited a reaction from fans, who asked Brown to "embrace" his hair loss.
@FCHWPO Just embrace it and start selling hair spray 😭
With his hairline drawing more attention than he’d like, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Brown consider a cleaner look, much like teammate Derrick White, by season’s end.
