This is how good Peyton Bonds is after Giants draft Barry Bonds' nephew

In the third round of the 2026 MLB Draft, the San Francisco Giants drafted Peyton Bonds on Saturday.

Yep, like that Bonds.

Peyton is Barry's nephew, and while not as hyped as his uncle, he has a chance to be a quality player, too.

The fact that the Giants drafted him makes it all the more intriguing.

How good is Peyton Bonds?

Peyton is a really good baseball player with impressive physical tools.

Like the ability that allowed him to hit a baseball 120.7 MPH this season for Rutgers:

120.7 mph on a DOUBLE… “the hardest-hit ball on a TrackMan radar in recent memory."

Peyton ended the year batting .352 with a .972 OPS, so he was able to consistently access that strength, as well.

Add to that 13 steals in 15 attempts and it's clear he's got all-around ability.

Having the Bonds last name raises the expectation bar considerably, and it's very possible no one ever in baseball reaches the numbers Barry put up.

But as his own man, Peyton Bonds can end up being a really quality player if he reaches his potential.
