"This is coaching malpractice," "Inexcusable": Calls mount to fire Shane Beamer from South Carolina fans after blowing 27-point lead vs. Texas A&M

Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks had a 27-point lead against the No.3 Texas A&M Aggies. However, things took a different turn in the second half as they blew out this massive lead.

Mike Elko and his team found their offensive rhythm, scoring four touchdowns. This resulted in them securing a 31-30 comeback victory over South Carolina and protecting their undefeated status this season.

Following Saturday's loss, fans on social media called for South Carolina to fire Beamer and bring in a suitable replacement to lead the team.

"Shane Beamer should be fired. This is coaching malpractice. Lived his whole coaching career of his Daddy's reputation," one fan commented. "Scar needs to fire Beamer. There is no excuse to blow a 27 point lead," another fan said. "Fire Beamer. That was just embarrassing," this fan stated. "Fire Shane Beamer this is inexcusable. South Carolina deserves better," another fan wrote. "He literally is coaching off his last name. The man can't coach," one fan said. "There is absolutely no way you can let Shane Beamer back to Columbia with a job at this university. This is absolutely pathetic," this fan commented.

Following Saturday's loss, the South Carolina Gamecocks are 3-7 and are second from last in the SEC, just above the Arkansas Razorbacks. They also have a five-game losing streak under their belt. Their only conference victory this season came against the Kentucky Wildcats in September.

Shane Beamer expresses disappointment about blowing a 27-point lead during South Carolina's loss to Texas A&M

In the post-game press conference, the South Carolina coach was unhappy with the fact that they threw away a potentially winnable game on the road.

Beamer said that squandering a massive lead was inexcusable. He also highlighted how it was their third SEC game this season where they had a third-quarter lead.

"This was the third SEC game- Alabama, Missouri, and A&M- that we led going into the fourth quarter. It makes me want to puke.

With a 3-7 record, the South Carolina Gamecocks are eliminated from bowl game eligibility this season. Their last two games are against Coastal Carolina and the Clemson Tigers.

Since taking over the Gamecocks in 2021, Beamer has put up a 32-29 overall record. Last season, he led the team to a 9-4 record and a Citrus Bowl loss against Illinois. Will South Carolina fire their coach after ending the season on a disappointing note?
