“This fight will be my first one” - Kana Morimoto confident she can score first KO in ONE against Stamp Fairtex at ONE 173

Four-time K-1 Champion Kana Morimoto of Japan is still looking for that signature knockout win in ONE Championship.

'Krusher Queen' is hoping that the finish will finally come at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri against former three-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex.

This highly anticipated women’s atomweight kickboxing tiff will take place this Sunday, Nov. 16, at Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

The 33-year-old veteran has displayed her world-class striking skills in the home of martial arts.

However, Kana admits she wants to end her knockout drought, and there’s no better way to do it on the biggest martial arts event of the year and against one of the promotion’s most recognizable stars.

She told the South China Morning Post (SCMP) in a recent interview:

"Yes, for sure. I haven't knocked down opponents, and I haven't had a KO in ONE Championship. So this fight will be my first one and I will continue doing this in this organization."

For Kana, sending a definitive message puts her right back in the running for 26 pounds of gold.

The Team Aftermath athlete wants to spoil Stamp’s long-awaited return from a knee injury and give Japanese fans a good show at ONE 173.
