I like to think that all of the work I put into streamlining my skincare routine has paid off. For the most part it has, but sometimes your skin goes rogue, and that's exactly what I experienced a few months ago.

Now, let's talk Prequel products. First up: Half & Half Fluid Moisturizer.
Made with a ceramide and peptide complex plus amino acids, my dry skin lapped this up like it had been on a desert island for months. The fragrance-free product (sensitive skin girlies rejoice) is often compared to the Rhode Glazing Milk, only it's several dollars cheaper and has lasted me several months, even with daily use.
I think of it as liquid hydration: part toner, part moisturizer. You can use this product any time of day. I love using it to prep my skin before makeup, but I usually apply it nightly after my retinol serum and let it sink in for a few minutes before my next step.
Next, I lather on the Skin Utility Ointment.
It's a multi-purpose skin protectant with a similar feel to Vaseline, but contains added ingredients like soothing antioxidants and ceramides. Surprisingly, it isn't super greasy and really locks in all that skincare goodness overnight.
After a month of using this skincare duo, I noticed my skin barrier had significantly improved. My texture was nearly all gone, fine lines were plumped, and I woke up each morning with dewy, hydrated skin.

This milky liquid moisturizer deeply nourished my dry skin, providing a boost of hydration that calmed texture, plumped fine lines and left my skin radiant and dewy.

I had to throw in this product as an honorable mention because I use every morning and night.
The peppermint-flavored lip balm contains a broad-spectrum SPF (perfect for summer) and leaves behind a glossy shine. It actually hydrates my lips, so I don't feel the need to constantly reapply.
