The Chicago Bulls have been stuck in the middle for a long time. It is no wonder that the NBA rumor mill is filled with different Bulls trade rumors. As it seems like the team is looking to build around some of their younger players, many believe that a Lonzo Ball trade could be one of the best moves for the Bulls.
This may not be the most impactful Bulls trade rumor. However, this Bulls trade idea from one Reddit user could be the type of trade that sends Lonzo Ball packing. The hypothetical Lakers trade looks like this:
Chicago Bulls trade: Lonzo Ball, Jalen Smith, and Ayo Dosunmu
Lakers trade: Rui Hachimura, Dalton Knecht, and a 2030 pick swap
The Bulls would be getting the best player in the trade in Hachimura, a young sharpshooter in Knecht, and a potentially valuable pick swap in 2030.
While not utterly ridiculous, this isn’t the best type of trade for the Bulls. First of all, if the Bulls aren’t able to trade Hachimura for younger players or picks, he doesn’t help them rebuild at all. The Bulls have already struggled with having win-now type players on their team that should be rebuilding, adding Hachimura to the mix doesn’t help.
Also, trading away Ball and Dosunmu should net them more than a single future pick swap. The Bulls' trade track record when it comes to getting good value is not the best. Remember how they couldn’t get a single first-round pick for Alex Caruso? They need to do better.

So, although this Bulls trade rumor might be more realistic, it probably isn’t the right move for the Bulls right now. They should be focused on getting more draft capital and young, high-potential players in any trade they make.
