First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played a starring role as the Toronto Blue Jays enjoyed a historic 2025 season, winning the AL East for the first time since 2015 before making it all the way to the World Series for the first time since 1993.

Unable to make it into the top three for the AL MVP award, Guerrero was instead presented with the first ever "Entertainer of the Year Award".

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reflects on "special" 2025 season

For Vladimir Guerrero Jr. individually and the Blue Jays as a collective, 2025 turned out to be an extremely memorable year.

Early on in the regular season, on April 9, Guerrero committed his future to the franchise by signing a fourteen-year, $500 million contract. Almost instantly, his superb performances justified the investment, as the Dominican went on to earn his fifth career All-Star selection.

Vladdy also enjoyed tremendous success with his team. After winning the AL East and the pennant, it looked like it was going to be the Blue Jays' year after all, until the Dodgers broke their hearts in the World Series at the very last.

Soon after the season came to an end, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. took to Instagram to post a message, reflecting on the year gone by.

"2025, I KNEW YOU WOULD BE SPECIAL WHEN I KNEW I WOULD BE A BLUE JAY FOREVER.I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY. A YEAR THAT CHANGED MY LIFE. A YEAR THAT MADE ME APPRECIATE TIMES THAT DIDN’T MAKE SENSE. A YEAR I WILL FRAME FOREVER. "TO MY FAMILY, FANS, TEAMMATES, BLUE JAYS ORGANIZATION, AND MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: THE ABOVE WOULDN’T BE POSSIBLE TO SAY WITHOUT ALL OF YOU.WE WERE BORN READY. WE STAY READY. LOVE, VLADDY" Guerrero posted

Though Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and company did not get the perfect end to the season they were dreaming of, the Blue Jays have shown they can hold their own against the best of the best, and the future is definitely bright if they keep on playing like they did in 2025
