Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are undoubtedly the two most dominant men's singles stars of the current era. While the duo have gone largely undefeated this year, Alcaraz was recently handed an opening round loss at the Paris Masters. After this upset, former Grand Slam champion Adriano Panatta warned the Spaniard to ‘be careful’ if he wants to beat Sinner again, but fans didn't take too kindly to the 75-year-old’s comments.
Alcaraz’s 2025 season has been absolutely incredible, with the 22-year-old reaching 10 finals and winning eight titles, including the French Open and the US Open. However, his performance at the Paris Masters saw him lose out to Britain’s Cameron Norrie in an unexpected upset. In light of this, former French Open champion Adriano Panatta sent out a warning to the Spaniard, telling Tennis World Italia,
"He [Alcaraz] could have a bad day and lose, but that never happens to Jannik in the first or second round. Either he loses in the final or he gets injured. So Carlos has to be careful: either he stays focused, or he'll never beat him again."Reacting to these comments, one fan on X wrote,
“These idiotic takes are genuinely ruining my day.”Another fan had a similar reaction, writing,
“This whole conversation abt carlos recently bruh i feel like im having a mass psychosis.”Here is how other tennis enthusiasts reacted to Adriano Panatta’s warning to Carlos Alcaraz:
“Yeah he just made 9 straight finals, won 3 out 5 masters he participated in, won 2 slams, yeah, he has a lot of bad days, needs to be careful against a guy he has beaten 7 out 8 times!!!,” one fan wrote. “‘He'll never beat him again’ talking as if Carlos won only once Imfao,” another added. “Carlos has 3 losses since April. Three. And I'm pretty sure the one who has to be careful is the guy who's 1-4 this year and 5-10 in the h2h against said player. Panatta should start taking meds because his rationale is going down the drain,” one X user commented. “‘He'll never beat him again’. You'd think that the h2h record is against Carlos,” yet another fan chimed in.Carlos Alcaraz loses World No.1 ranking to Jannik Sinner

While the Spaniard enjoyed a few weeks atop the ranking chart, he has now lost the World No.1 position Sinner after the Italian triumphed at the Paris Masters.
Both the tennis stars are next expected to return to action at the ATP Tour Finals, where Carlos Alcaraz will have a chance to regain the World No.1 spot in order to end the year on a high.
