There's one problem with Mike Evans' injury status for Week 7 Buccaneers vs. Lions

The plan is for Mike Evans to suit up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football against the Detroit Lions.

After missing three weeks with a hamstring injury, Week 7 looks like it'll be his return.

Evans, by plan, sat out Friday's practice but is supposed to be back out there Saturday.

There's really just one problem here, and it's the nature of the injury.

Social media doctor Deepak Chona writes that Evans has a "HIGH re-injury risk."

Hamstrings are notoriously finicky and tricky.

The Bucs will also likely need Evans out on the field all the time since Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka are injured. And that means Evans won't get to ease into things but rather have to go full throttle right away. That can only add to the risk of the hamstring getting tweaked again.

Tampa Bay's star WR certainly doesn't want to miss more time, especially as he tries to keep his streak of 1000-yard seasons alive.

The Bucs surely don't want to go into a game with Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson and Kameron Johnson as their top-three receivers, either.

It's all a balancing act at this point, between present and future production, between present and future health.

Evans is so important to what the Buccaneers do, and that's true both now and later. No matter what, the Bucs really need fortune on their side to make whatever they decide work out in their favor.
