Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions
This lament:
“What’s happening to immigrants . . . keeps me up at night.”
— Michelle Obama, Monday
We say: Team Trump is mainly deporting violent illegal immigrants.
Is the former first lady upset with that? Is she ignorant about it? Our guess: It’s all a big show.
After all, if Trump’s 70,000 deportations this year keep her up at night, how much sleep did she lose when her husband Barack kicked out 5.3 million illegal immigrants on his watch?
Spot the difference:
“Trump has the lowest 100-day approval rating since they started polling.”
— Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Tuesday
vs.
“Polls come and go.”
— Schumer, a minute later, when asked about his own approval rating of 17%
We say: Oops. Looks like the kettle just learned a lesson about slamming the pot.
Yes, President Trump’s ratings have slipped somewhat in some polls. Yet even the worst of them are at least twice as good as Schumer’s.
This logic:
“If the government . . . could use the threat of withholding money [from Harvard] . . . then it could threaten you to raise your income taxes unless you toe the line.”
— Harvard law prof Laurence Tribe, Monday
We say: Team Trump froze Harvard’s funds because it failed to uphold civil-rights law, better protect Jews and comply with Supreme Court rulings on race-blind admissions.

Meanwhile, where were Harvard’s defenders when the Obama and Biden folks threatened to withhold funds from schools that rejected their agendas?
Or when Team Obama’s IRS actually did target the taxes of people who refused to “toe the line” — i.e., conservative groups?
This claim:
“We’re in the middle of an attempted authoritarian overthrow of American democracy.”
— Rachel Maddow, Saturday
We say: How long will the left continue with this idiocy? Their “threat-to-democracy” fearmongering didn’t work for Joe Biden, and it failed spectacularly for Kamala Harris in November.
Oh, and if anyone has ignored the will of the people (who elected Trump), it’s been the left.
