The two Lukes go to head-to-head in the World Grand Prix final

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries will contest the 2025 BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix final, as both came through their semi-finals in Leicester. Luke Humphries was the first player into the final, as the 2023 winner turned back the challenge of the never-say-die Danny Noppert, taking a 5-2 win. Littler powered past Jonny Clayton at Mattioli Arena, repelling the Welshman  in a 5-1 last four win.

The Nuke opened the match with 161 and 87 finishes to take the opening set, and checkouts of 94 and 89 aided ‘The Nuke’ in doubling his advantage.

Clayton opened the third set with a superb 154 kill, and a 128 checkout on the bull pulled a set back for the Welshman. Clayton manoeuvred his way into a good position to level, but his heart was broken when sat on 32 in the final leg of set four, with Littler finding a 140 finish to land one to the solar plexus of ‘The Ferret’.

Littler then blasted his way to set five without reply, opened set six with a 96 finish, then pinned a pair of tops to go a leg away from the win, which was duly sealed on double five to seal a first Grand Prix final for the Warrington man.

RIDICULOUS DARTS: Luke Littler vs Jonny Clayton semifinal highlights

Humphries was in fine early form, taking out 155 in just the second leg of the contest, and a 108 checkout sealed a first set win with an average of nearly 110. Noppert was well in line to level with a two-leg lead in the second set, only for Humphries to find a burst of three legs, taking out 84 on the bull to double his advantage.

‘Cool Hand’ was on a roll, railroading Noppert in set three as the Dutchman struggled to find his starting doubles to make it six straight legs and a 3-0 lead.

TENSE DARTS: Luke Humphries vs Danny Noppert semifinal highlights

Noppert, to his credit, battled hard, and took set four in a final leg to grab a foothold in the match, and a 145 finish at the start of set five for a break of throw kept his momentum going. He led 2-1 in that set, but Humphries forced a last leg, which he bossed to take a stranglehold at 4-1.

‘The Freeze’ refused to give up, pulling a set back, and he wasn’t ready to depart the East Midlands, finding double eight to take a set against the darts, and close to 4-3. A 135 finish from Humphries early in the eighth set got him back on track, and he followed with a 110 to go a leg from victory. He confirmed the win with minimal fuss to make a third straight final in Leicester.
