The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball Top 25 — March 19: Dynamic Prep moves to No. 1 after AZ Compass Prep loss

2 hours ago 4

There's a new No. 1 team in The Sporting News High School Boys Basketball Top 25.

Dynamic Prep trades places this week with last week's No. 1 AZ Compass Prep [Chandler, AZ] after the latter was defeated by the No. 8 CIA-Bella Vista Prep [Scottsdale, AZ] Bears in last week's Nike EYBL championship game. Dynamic Prep hasn't played since January 22, and their only loss of the season is also to the Bears.

Four new teams joined the rankings this week as the state championships continued to wrap up in some of the early states. The North Crowley [Fort Worth, TX] Panthers and the Little Elm [TX] Lobos won the Texas UIL Class 6A Division I and Division II state championships last weekend, and both teams sneak into the lower reaches of the Top 25 as their seasons conclude.

The Columbus [Miami, FL] Explorers also rejoin the rankings after winning Florida's FHSAA Class 7A title, and their season continues this week in The Throne tournament.

Tennessee TSSAA Division I Class 4A semifinalist Bearden of Knoxville also joins the rankings, and the Bulldogs will take on the No. 14 Bartlett [TN] Panthers on Friday night.
