I remember on my 13th birthday, my uncle gave me a crisp $100 bill and I thought he was the richest man in Canada.
And to be honest, even today as a grown-ass man, the concept of $1 billion hurts my head.
Like, you ever heard that counting to one million takes 11 hours but counting to one billion would take over 30 years?
So, imagine that… but money.
In lieu of my uncle NOT being one of the richest men in the world, I’ve put together a list of the wealthiest people who ever walked the earth.
Take note: I’ve adjusted all net worths for inflation to modern dollars, based on historical estimates.
Comparing wealth across centuries is actually tough, so take it with a grain of salt. Economists use methods like GDP share, purchasing power, and asset valuation to arrive at these figures.
