The Pac-12 release new horizontal mark designs amidst general rebrand

It’s crazy to think how the Pac-12, a conference left for dead in 2023, will relaunch in seven days. Yes, we all know that only two legacy members remain and the conference no longer holds the autonomy status it once did, but let’s be honest: Pac-12 After Dark was sorely missed.

The league has been busy redesigning itself while also staying true to its 110-year-old history in the buildup to its return. Alongside a new logo and design schemes, they’ve now added specific horizontal marks for each team.

The Pac-12 is leaning into their new logo, and it’s becoming a vibe

The Conference of Champions received some praise for their logo tweak a few months ago, but whenever you’re moving on from such a memorable logo as the old Pac-12 one, it’s natural for there to be an adjustment period for a lot of people.

But, part of what has worked for the Pac-12 in this general rebrand is that they’ve kept the general base and features of the original crest while changing enough to be different and unique.

It reflects what the conference has gone through, and considering the circumstances, I believe it was the right move.

These horizontal marks are an extension of that idea, and there’s just something cool about just seeing the Pac-12 name again in new designs. They get a passing grade from me.
