The Mets can say ‘why not us?’ in this NL wild-card race — but here’s what they need to fix first

An important week is upon the Mets.

They are all pretty vital now if the Mets are going to make something of the 2026 season.

When I ask executives around the game about the Mets, the most common refrain falls into this bucket: They are a good team with a strong farm system that got off to a terrible start.

So, can that good team with the strong farm system overcome the terrible start?
