Disappointed you didn’t get tickets to Paul McCartney’s ultra exclusive shows at The Fonda Theater this weekend?
We Can Work It Out.
There are still several places you could spot The Beatle in Los Angeles, a city he often calls home.
First up, the famed restaurant Dan Tana’s. Macca took a trip to the legendary eatery on April 12, 2024 a night after he performed at The Hollywood Bowl in a concert paying tribute to Margaritaville singer, the late Jimmy Buffet.
The legend must have still been in a margarita mood because the patrons were stunned when he left his private and cozy booth to tell Bartender Nick how to mix one the McCartney way.
“He wanted fresh orange juice in his margarita,” said one regular who got to rub elbows with him while Nick worked away. “Sir Paul you’re the first Beatle I met, oh I met Ringo, does that count?,” the regular said. “Paul just laughed”, he added.
Dan Tana’s old school Italian flare was a big departure from his go-to vegan spot. Crossroads Kitchen has been host to McCartney more than once.
He’s also been seen with his wife Nancy Shevell at the tucked away Bel Air restaurant Il Segreto, double dating with his former bandmate Ringo Starr and the drummer’s Bond girl wife Barbara Bach.
“Baby, You Can Drive My Car”
If you don’t sit next to Macca maybe you’ll be stopped with him at a red light. Forget limos, the bassist cruises around town in his infamous blue Corvette. The unmistakable ride has taken him high into the Hollywood Hills, where he’s been seen hiking with Shevell.
The much anticipated shows at Fonda Theater have Beatles fans buzzing. The lucky few who had the opportunity to purchase the tickets after being selected randomly will have to shell out $1600 for a ticket, which includes entrance to the sound check.
It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the 83-year-old singer in an intimate venue that holds just 1200 people. Those who attend must adhere to a strict no phone policy, and the shows come as Paul announced Thursday he has a new album coming out in May called, “The Boys of Dungeon Lane.”
Paul has been intimate in LA before. In 2007 he gave a two hour performance at Amoeba Records in Hollywood. He picked the spot after shopping in the vinyl joint unrecognized wearing a baseball hat and glasses, according to the Amoeba staffers.
“When I Get Home”
McCartney has had a few homes in LA, the most famous one on Heather Road off of Coldwater Canyon in Beverly Hills which he bought from Ellen Degeneres. The extremely private mansion was where his fellow Beatle George Harrison died.
Most recently McCartney picked up a home in Malibu, according to Ivor Davis who covered the Beatles first tour of America in 1964. He says it’s a pricey mobile home in Paradise Cove, the priciest trailer park in the country where places go for millions.
