Russell Wilson (3) warms up before a game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, in Philadelphia.

The Jets added a quarterback in the draft but it is clear they are not done making additions at the position.
The team had veteran Russell Wilson in for a free agent visit Monday as they begin to search for an experienced backup for Geno Smith. No signing was imminent with Wilson and the Jets but that could change at any moment.
It is also possible that the Jets explore other options. They like Wilson because Smith played with him in Seattle and there is chemistry there. That does not mean the two sides are going to agree on a deal, though.
The Jets currently have Bailey Zappe, Brady Cook and Cade Klubnik — whom the team drafted Saturday in the fourth round — behind Smith. They need a backup with some experience in case Smith goes down.
