The Giants might keep this interesting — but it won’t be because of Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston doesn’t appear capable of saving the Giants’ season.

But defense — and a soft schedule — could keep them alive for some time.

Without Jaxson Dart, the Giants failed to score a touchdown for the second straight game, but John Harbaugh’s team escaped Sunday’s meeting with the Titans with a rain-soaked 12-7 win — and a winning record, entering October.

“We ended up coming out with a victory, and that’s all that freaking matters,” running back Cam Skattebo said. “A year ago, we lose that game — 100 percent.”
