The Cleveland Browns are in the first stages of their 2025 offseason, as they'll try to rebound from a 3-14 year. However, it seems likely they'll do so without long-time running back Nick Chubb.
The four-time Pro Bowler came back in October after suffering a horrid knee injury early in the 2023 season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Upon returning, though, Chubb struggled. He ran for just 332 yards on 3.3 yards per carry, and never eclipsed 60 yards in a game. And while that can be chalked up to working his way back and getting into the flow of NFL football again, the Browns will have a serious decision to make this offseason when it comes to their running back.
Chubb is set to hit free agency this March, and it is very possible that he has played his final snap as a Brown. Now while he could come back on a cheap deal, at minimum his days of being a top five running back appear to be over and the Browns should add a young feature back to squad no matter what Chubb's status is.
