"That was f**** sick" - Trevor Baur sends a message to his $325M "favorite pitcher as Dodgers seal 2025 World Series title

Former LA Dodgers ace Trevor Bauer wished Yoshinobu Yamamoto for helping the team to win their ninth World Series title. The Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series to claim consecutive championships.

Yamamoto, who is signed to a 12-year, $325 million contract, played a big hand in the 5-4 win. He replaced Blake Snell in the ninth inning to record the final out in a high-leverage situation. He started by giving up a single to Bo Bichette and walking Alejandro Kirk with a hit by pitch. But after that, he made no big mistake and recorded the final two outs.

Then, he pitched scoreless innings in the ninth and 10th while the Dodgers added the go-ahead run, thanks to Will Smith's solo blast in the 11th inning. Finally, in the end, Yamamoto induced a double play to win the World Series for the Dodgers.

After the result, Bauer took to X and posted a message for Yamamoto:

"Yamamoto is my favorite pitcher. Respect, brother. That was f****** sick. 🫡"

Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto named World Series MVP

Yoshinobu Yamamoto was named the World Series MVP for the Dodgers as he joined the rare club of recording three wins in a single World Series.

Yamamoto threw a complete game in Game 2 against the Blue Jays, where he recorded eight strikeouts while allowing only one earned run. He made the start in Game 6 and pitched six strong innings, giving up only one earned run while registering six strikeouts.

Despite no rest, Yamamoto was able to record 2.2 scoreless innings with one strikeout.

This way in the World Series, he went 3-0, pitched 17.2 innings for two earned runs and 15 strikeouts.

Overall in the postseason, he went 5-1 with an ERA of 1.45 and 33 strikeouts in six postseason appearances. He also had a great regular season and is among the frontrunners to win the NL Cy Young. He had a 12-8 record with an ERA of 2.49 and 201 strikeouts in 30 regular-season appearances.
