Simone Biles opened up about the reason for speaking up about her three cosmetic surgeries while she was struggling with body image. The admission came days after she revealed the surgeries on her TikTok video.

Although the gymnast did not explain the surgeries she underwent in the video, she responded to her fans' comments who kept guessing. Bile underwent a breast augmentation, lower blepharoplasty (which lessens bagginess from the lower eyelids), and earlobe surgeries. In an interview with People.com, the legendary gymnast, who has been vocal about mental health struggles, too, said that it was important to make the young girls understand to embrace their own choices.

"I also think it shows young girls that they have the right to their own choices, whatever they are, and that's no shame added as well," she says. "I feel like nowadays with social media, you see everyone and you're like, 'Oh my God, how does she look so good?'"

She also opened up on the reason why she underwent these surgeries, stating that she suffered from something that she calls 'Biles eye bags,' which caused issues during shoots. Bile further revealed about the earlobe surgery, which she was compelled to get after her earrings got ripped out. She also got honest about her breast augmentation surgery, neglecting the notion that she didn't like how they looked.

Simone Biles highlighted how she restored confidence in her ability after suffering from twisties during the Tokyo Olympics. In an interview with Olympics.com, the 28-year-old said that she experienced twisties twice after the Games and only regained confidence after she started to focus on the basics of her sport.

“I feel like [there were] only one or two times where I got lost,” she said. “But we knew how to regulate all those emotions, feelings, and doubts that came with it. We didn’t freak out too much. We’re just like, ‘It’s okay. Let’s not panic. Let’s go back to basics. We’ll work our way up, and then, in a couple of days, you’re fine.’" “He (Laurent Landi) would be like, ‘Go do double-doubles.’ And I’d be like, ‘Can we do those tomorrow?’ And… I guess I did think I would get lost on some days if I wasn’t absolutely concentrating."

At the 2024 Olympics, she collected three gold and one silver medal.
