Florida's DJ Lagway and South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers are considered among the most talented quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season. While some feel that both signal-callers might be in the running for the Heisman Trophy, analyst Jake Crain pointed out the differences between the two.
On Tuesday, on On3, Crain discussed how Lagway and Sellers have contrasting styles.
"What separates DJ and LaNorris is not just their physical size or their running ability," Crain said (11:14). "It's his (Lagway) ability to throw the hole shot, to punch the dig in there, right? Throw the fastball, but also change up, the lollipop screen, being able to air the ball out and anticipate where a guy is going to be, throwing to guys open.•
DJ Lagway took over as Florida's starting QB last season when Graham Mertz picked up a season-ending ACL injury.
Lagway went on to complete 115-of-192 passes for 1,915 yards with 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 101 yards on 51 carries and posted a 6-1 record as a starter at Florida last season.
DJ Lagway has been dealing with an injury this offseason and has been limited in practice. He has two months before he can fully recover to lead the Gators' offense.
LaNorris Sellers reportedly turned down $8 million NIL offer to remain at South Carolina

According to reports, LaNorris Sellers declined a two-year, $8 million NIL offer from another school this offseason.
Sellers committed to South Carolina in 2023 and got the starting QB role last season. He racked up 2,520 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions and also added seven rushing touchdowns in 2024.
Sellers was named the SEC Freshman of the Year last season. It remains to be seen whether he can improve on his numbers in 2025. Some believe Sellers is an early Heisman Trophy contender.
