Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton will be available only in an emergency role for Saturday’s matchup against Arizona State, the school announced ahead of kickoff.
Texas Tech Behren Morton game availability shifted to emergency only.
Morton was listed as day-to-day throughout the week and was limited in practice. The No. 7 Red Raiders travel to Tempe, Arizona as they try and extend their 6-0 record to 7-0. Coach Joey McGuire said the junior is dealing with an injury similar to the hyperextended right knee he sustained in the opner against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The injury occured at halftime, with the Raiders going on to win 67-7.
Morton has had his share of injuries this season, he also left a Sept. 20 game at then-No. 16 Utah early in the second half after taking a hard hit to the helmet on a scramble. Texas Tech went on to win that game 34-10.
