Texans' C.J. Stroud reveals why he got a drastic haircut

As you can see in the picture above with C.J. Stroud alongside Bryce Young, the Houston Texans' QB Stroud has gone with a much different look this offseason.

He used to have long hair, and now he's got a tight haircut. Fans noticed early when Stroud began posting on social media with the new look.

On Thursday, Stroud got to explain to reporters why he made the switch.

“I was told people thought I was depressed," Stroud said. "I wasn’t. I was doing OK. I had been thinking about cutting my hair for a long time."

He finally went for the drastic move and is ready to move forward with it.

"I hate that everything in my life is so public," Stroud said. "People just have narratives. It's the life I've chosen to live. I like my haircut.”

The Texans will be hoping that the new look allows Stroud to enhance his play on the field.

After a Rookie of the Year campaign, Stroud hasn't taken a step forward in his second or third seasons.

He has yet to secure a long-term extension from the Texans as they wait to see if he can indeed prove he's worthy of being their franchise QB for years to come.

Stroud remains talented and comfortable with who he is, and it'll be about putting the full setup together on the field.

The Texans will go as far as Stroud takes them. They've got the defense already, and if Stroud can take a step forward with his new haircut, it could be a big season ahead in Houston.
