A New Hampshire teenager has been charged with murdering his 21-year-old sister, who was found at their home with a gunshot to the head.

Logan Anderson, 18, faces life in prison if convicted of the Monday morning killing his sister, Leah Anderson, a Plymouth State University student who also worked with local students in an after-school program, police said.

Officials have yet to offer a motive for the shooting — but acknowledged the added agony for the siblings’ family that a loved one is accused of murdering another.

“In a case where a victim’s family has lost not only the victim who has been killed in this case — their own child — [but] another child is charged with it,” New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Bethany Durand said.

“Obviously, it brings layers of complications and layers of trauma for this family.

Leah had been pursuing her elementary education degree at Plymouth State University — about 10 miles from where she was found dead — and worked with local students in an after-school program.

“From how I knew her, she was a wonderful person. I know she worked up at the Marshalls there, so she would always talk to me when I went in there and stuff,” said Andy Hazelton, who had been a classmate of Leah’s at Plymouth Regional High School, where she graduated from in 2023.

“It’s a small town. You really don’t hear about stuff like this happening too often. It’s tragic. It’s really sad.”

Logan is charged with second-degree murder, according to the Thornton Police Department

He’s currently being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court next on June 17.
