Teen charged in shocking slashing of NYC mom tried to hop plane to Peru before bust: sources

A teen thug charged with viciously slashing a Queens mom in an unprovoked attack was nabbed trying to hop a flight to Peru — and charged after his own dad ID’d him, law enforcement sources told The Post.

Luis Emmanuel Valencia Ponce, 18, who is charged with viciously stabbing mother-of-three Lisette Ramales at an East Elmhurst bus stop Monday, flipped out at LaGuardia airport after trying to board a flight without a ticket or boarding pass — and was taken into custody by Port Authority police.

Ponce was hospitalized for observation after the episode, when police realized he was the goon wanted in the caught-on-video slashing, with his own father confirming he was a wanted man, the sources said.

The teen’s family is from Peru.

Ponce betrayed no emotion and gave reporters an icy stare as he was led out of the 115th Precinct in handcuffs on Wednesday, when he was due to be arraigned on assault and attempted murder charges.

Ramales, 29, was on her way to work and was standing at a bus stop at 23rd Avenue and 94th Street around 6:20 a.m. when the knife-wielding nut walked up behind her and stabbed her.

“I was waiting for the light to turn to walk,” she told The Post from her hospital bed. “I was waiting, all of a sudden, the guy slashed me. I yelled, and he looked like he turned around to go. And then just because I yelled, he did it again.”

Ramales said her attacker never said a word.

“That’s the weird part. He didn’t say anything. He didn’t take anything, my belongings — nothing.”

She suffered multiple broken ribs and multiple stab wounds, and remained hospitalized Thursday.

Police later recovered the knife at the scene and released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Neighbors said Ponce lived in a basement apartment with his dad next to La Guardia airport and just a block from the scene of the slashing, while the reason for the unprovoked attack remains a mystery.

According to sources, he told police that he had allegedly been doing drugs before the attack.

Neighbors described the accused slasher as “very quiet,” and said the shocking attack he’s now charged with is “really creepy.”
