Behind-The-Scenes With The Cast Of Ted Lasso
Brendan Hunt and Shannon Nelson will make you believe in love.
The Ted Lasso star and the Drop Dead Gorgeous actress confirmed that they officially tied the knot on Sept. 20 following a two-year engagement.
“Oh wait! I totally forgot to mention—me and @snoopshann got married in Ireland a couple weeks ago,” Brendan shared on Instagram Oct. 8. “NBD.”
The 53-year-old—who shares sons Sean, 4, and Archibald, 20 months, with Shannon—noted that their wedding was planned with “way less lead time than you’re supposed to give” and that they had fewer guests that they would have liked “under normal circumstances.”
Still, the longtime couple’s nuptials definitely had some Ted Lasso flare, as Brendan’s costar Jason Sudeikis officiated the ceremony, with Brendan joking, “We’re pretty sure the dude who married us was only pretending to be a priest.”
“The bride was stunning,” he gushed, “while the groom cleaned up reasonably well. It was all quite lovely, and best of all our little boys got to see it.”
And the boys had a special job at the wedding, as Shannon shared in her own Oct. 8 Instagram post, “Our children walked me down the aisle and watched as their Dad and I said our vows and tied our family together in the most quiet, musical, silly and lovely way.”

The actress recalled the night fondly, adding, “Then we danced until my shoe leather wore off.”
Every detail had a personal touch, as the duo shared the special way their invitations nodded to their sons, reading, “Sean Theodore and Archibald Felix request the honor of your presence at the wedding celebration of their parents.”
The invite also stated that when it came to a dress code, “Bright colors and bold patterns encouraged.”

And the bright colors weren’t just for the guests, as Brendan himself wore a green velvet tuxedo and while Shannon opted for a cream-colored wedding gown covered in pale pink and green embroidered flowers.
The longtime couple sweetened the celebration with a three-tiered wedding cake, which featured small figurines of Sally and Pig-Pen from the Peanuts comic strip as the cake toppers.
