From figure skater Alysa Liu to skier Mikaela Shiffrin, the athletes representing Team USA at the 2026 Milano Cortina Games have proven to be the country’s most golden group yet.
Team USA has captured a record-setting 11 gold medals at these Winter Games.

REUTERSThe record-setting win came Saturday when the U.S. mixed aerials team, headlined by Chris Lillis, Connor Curran and Kaila Kuhn, topped the podium, beating Switzerland, which came in second, and China, which finished third.
“It’s so great to get Olympic gold with my teammates, and to do it for them, and them doing it for me,” Lillis told reporters after the event, via USA Today.
“I couldn’t describe how special it is to bring home a gold for the U.S.”
Team USA’s 11 gold medals in Italy are the most the team has won at any Winter Games, surpassing the 10 captured at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games. (The U.S. has recorded nine event wins in each of the subsequent Winter Games before this year’s.)
The U.S. possibly could add to its total over the next day.

The U.S. men’s hockey team is set to take on Team Canada in a gold medal game Sunday morning – three days after the U.S. women stunned Canada in overtime to win gold.
As of 11:30 a.m., the U.S. is second in total medal count with 31, trailing only Norway, which is having a record showing in Italy.
