On a recent podcast episode of "Wingmen," a Wave Original, Team USA Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics gold medalists Matthew and Brady Tkachuk hosted fellow brothers duo of Quinn and Jack Hughes to reflect on the 2-1 overtime win in Italy for the Americans.

Both sets of brothers discussed everything from the pressure of overtime, to the split-second instinct behind the game-winning goal, in addition to Jack sharing his experience of the final play in his own words. Quinn also discussed his own overtime goal over Sweden which helped the U.S. to eventually secure its spot in the final. The episode was posted on March 18, and has quickly garnered nearly 100,000 views within the first 24 hours.

Quinn said on the "Wingmen" episode that this team of USA Hockey is a brotherhood that was destined to win gold.

"It was easily the best moment of my life and the last 2-3 weeks have been the best month of my life," Quinn said. "Canada has hall of famers everywhere on their roster, so it's hard to win. Really hard to win. And it just felt like we were a brotherhood and it was destined, and I just couldn't believe it.”

Jack Hughes opens up on Olympic mouth injury

Quinn was previously also named tournament Best Defender of the men's ice hockey event in the 2026 Winter Olympics. He was additionally placed on the tournament's All-Star team.

He saw historic Time On Ice (TOI) numbers throughout his play in Italy.

Quinn's younger brother of Jack also opened up on Matthew and Brady's podcast about his Olympic mouth injury sustained due to a high stick to the mouth that cost him two teeth ahead of scoring the historic OT winner.

"I know everyone's talking about the stab, right? Cuz they could have knocked it down, but it happens so fast. Like instinct just tells me to go get that puck," Jack said. "To the viewers, I have 10 stitches in my tongue, so that's whatever … I'm not even thinking about the magnitude of it. I'm just like, let's get up the ice. Like, let's make a play. That's where my hockey instincts just take over and make that play.”

The "Wingmen" series has almost 15,000 followers on X. The Tkachuk brothers have combined for 68 points in the ongoing 2025-26 NHL season.

Brady has tallied 46 of those points as part of the Ottawa Senators roster.

The men's gold win was accompanied by both the U.S. Women and Paralympic Sled Hockey Teams also brining home the gold medals to the United States.

For the men's team, the win was achieved 46 years to the day of the "Miracle on Ice" win over the Soviet Union in Lake Placid, New York.
