The arrest kicked off a broader evidence hunt, with detectives searching Garcia’s home and workplace as they continued digging into the case.

Garcia is a teacher at Paramount High School, authorities said, though police did not identify which of the school’s two campuses employs him.

Th high school splits its 3,400 students across a West Campus for 9th graders and a Senior Campus for grades 10–12 to manage overcrowding — though the district plans to reunify them by 2027.

The school recently earned recognition as a 2026–27 US News Best High School.

School officials were notified of the arrest and are cooperating with investigators, according to police.

But authorities are keeping a tight lid on what sent detectives after Garcia in the first place.

Police have not said what triggered the investigation, how long Garcia had been under scrutiny or where the alleged material was discovered.

Investigators have not said whether they believe any students were victimized or whether anyone connected to the school figures into the allegations.

For now, the investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence.
