“I don’t want to keep secrets just to keep you,” Taylor Swift sings on “Cruel Summer” — but she and Travis Kelce will keep some secrets from their wedding guests to keep its location under wraps.
At least, that’s what it sounds like based on what George and Claire Kittle told Entertainment Tonight in a clip posted Wednesday (June 24). The San Francisco 49ers tight end and his wife confirmed that they received an invitation to the big day — “Yeah, we’ll be there,” George said — but clarified that even they aren’t exactly sure where “there” is.
“We don’t know,” Claire said earnestly when asked whether Swift and Kelce are planning to tie the knot at Madison Square Garden, as has been reported.
“I’m wearing a blue suit, that’s all I got,” George added. “I actually asked Travis last night, and he laughed at me. I’m half expecting there just to be a jumbo jet on a runway, and they put us on a plane somewhere.”
The athlete’s remarks seemingly illuminate how Kelce and the pop star are preventing the setting of their wedding from leaking to the public. There have been many reports that it’ll take place somewhere in New York City over Fourth of July Weekend, but nothing has been confirmed.
In the meantime, Kelce and Kittle have been hard at work hosting this year’s Tight End University, an annual summit they founded with Greg Olsen to bring the NFL’s tight ends together for group training and raise money for charity. On Tuesday (June 24) in Nashville, they held their Tight Ends & Friends concert as part of the event, at which Swift joined featured performer Lainey Wilson for a surprise duet of “Love Story.”
“We have a special request by a very special tight end, who wanted to hear a particular song,” Swift said after walking on stage. “And that tight end is named George Kittle.”
While speaking to ET, George also gushed about how attentive Kelce is when it comes to the 14-time Grammy winner. “Seeing [Travis] always watch her back and always be there for her whenever she needs anything, it’s just kind of fun to see,” he said.
