Taylor Swift taps 2 A-listers for ‘Patient Zero’ music video as she gives epic first look

Taylor Swift tapped Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell for the music video for “Patient Zero,” set to premiere at the VMAs 2026 on Sunday.

In the 13-second glimpse of her new music video for “Patient Zero,” released on Thursday’s episode of “CBS Mornings,” Johnson and Swift mirror each other as they wash their hands in a dark bathroom.

The two are then seen standing in front of a grave with Swift — wearing a rather dazzling engagement ring — putting a hand on Johnson’s shoulder.

Farrell is then seen getting out a sports car before the three of them — all wearing black — meet up for a drink.

“This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for,” Gayle King enthused during the segment.

Co-anchor Vladimir Duthiers pointed out that Johnson’s participation shouldn’t surprise Swifties because she hinted at the actress’ involvement during the Emmys 2026 when she called out “north or south,” referencing North or South Dakota.

The two women have also been closely involved lately, as Swift has allowed Johnson to use the singer’s apartment to meet up with her latest rumored flame, MGK.

For the last couple of months, Swift has been dropping hints about an upcoming project — including in her “Opalite” music video in February and on her social media.

She also sent fans into a frenzy on Sept. 14 when she dropped several Easter eggs during her surprise cameo at the Emmys 2026 in a pre-recorded skit with the cast of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

But on Tuesday, Swift announced on social media that she was releasing her latest single, “Patient Zero.”

The next day, fans got even better news when the 14-time Grammy winner announced an “encore” version of her 2025 album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which would feature four new songs.

“About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history,” Swift, 36, wrote on Instagram.

“I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album,” she explained, saying they “just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in.”

However, during their time in Sweden, they wrote and recorded more songs, titled “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding,” and “Babylon.”

“I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made,” she concluded, pointing out that her new music is set to come out Friday.

Swift’s last album was announced in August 2025 before being released two months later.

In her 12-track album, she dedicated multiple songs to her then-fiancé, Travis Kelce, whom she married in July at Madison Square Garden.

Despite staying busy in the studio, Swift has also embraced her WAG status and rooted for Kelce, also 36, during his Kansas City Chiefs games this season.

Last week, the “Fate of Ophelia” singer flaunted her wedding ring after the tight end scored his first touchdown of the season, helping the Chiefs beat the Indianapolis Colts.

“That’s my husband!” she shouted while pointing to her rock.
