Will MomTok survive Taylor Frankie Paul‘s latest scandal?

Amid domestic violence allegations, Paul appeared on this morning’s broadcast of Good Morning America to promote her upcoming season of The Bachelorette. But before she could talk about what’s to come on the franchise’s 22nd iteration, the MomTok founder addressed reports that production for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 was put on pause following an explosive fight between her and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.

“I don’t call the shots with production,” Paul said. “As of now, I have also gotten word that it has been paused, but I do not call the shots. As far as I know, it was, but I don’t know how long and when.”

According to TMZ, Paul and Mortensen got into a dispute over his past hookups in late February. The argument reportedly turned physical when Paul allegedly choked Mortensen, ripped his necklace off, and grabbed his throat and his face while their 2-year-old son, Ever, was in the room. When she returned to Mortensen’s house the next day, she allegedly scratched his neck and threw his phone at the wall, prompting his roommate to call the police. A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department told People on Monday (March 16) that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” involving the two parties, both of whom have made allegations against the other.

“It’s been a heavy time to see the headlines, especially during this time of The Bachelorette being released,” Paul said of the allegations on GMA. “It’s supposed to be a really exciting time. I’m a person that will always speak my truth. That’s what I’m known for. And when the time is right, I will be.”

The reality star added, “My kids come first. It’s been a back and forth process, trying to be here in the present moment, worrying about home and headlines. It’s been stressful, to be honest.”

Regarding her future on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Paul said it was “hard to say” if she’ll return to the hit Hulu series “because of everything going on.”

“It’s hard to see past this, I’m not going to lie,” she said. “In this moment, it’s just so heavy. When your life is broadcast out there in these headlines, it’s like the end of the world. That’s what it feels like, I’m not going to lie. But I’ve been here before and I got through it. I shared my story and my life so I’m hoping that I can do that again.”

Paul was, of course, referring to her infamous swinging scandal. In 2022, she shared with her TikTok followers that she and her then-husband were getting a divorce, revealing that they had been soft-swinging with their other Mormon friends, and she ended up having an affair with one of the other husbands. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was built with that background as its foundation, and made even more dramatic when Paul was arrested for alleged aggravated assault after a fight with Mortensen in the first episode.

The Bachelorette Season 22 is premiering this Sunday, March 22 on ABC.
