Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex Dakota Mortensen filed a restraining order against the reality star and requested temporary custody of their son following their alleged domestic violence dispute, Page Six confirmed.

On Tuesday, Mortensen requested the protective order in Utah, citing alleged incidents that occurred on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24, TMZ reported.

According to the filing, the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star allegedly choked him during a heated argument.

Mortensen alleged that he had to remove Paul’s hands from his neck as she pushed him into a window and hit him.

He referred to the alleged incident as “chaotic” and “frightening,” claiming that their son, Ever, was also present and had woken up from a nap to Paul’s screaming.

Per the outlet, Mortensen stated that he called 911 but was allegedly “manipulated” into disconnecting the call and telling dispatch that his son was ill.

Mortensen alleged that Paul threatened to hurt herself and was “emotionally volatile.”

When the situation calmed, Mortensen stated that he put his son back to sleep, but the child was allegedly awakened due to her “aggressive behavior.” He then departed Paul’s home with Ever for safety.

The following night, Mortensen and Paul reunited, and the latter allegedly threw his phone against the wall and blocked him from leaving the home.

When Mortensen got into his truck, the content creator allegedly started striking him and threw a beverage at him.

“I was unable to safely leave while this was happening, and my child had been left inside the home during the chaos under her watch due to our custody agreement,” he alleged, admitting that he had to push Paul off him at one point.

When Mortensen left the home, he received a message from Paul, claiming she had a bloody nose and needed medical treatment, per TMZ.

He described the message as an attempt for him not to call the police, and wrote that he was “genuinely concerned for [his] safety and the safety and well-being of [his] child.”

Mortensen also allegedly suffered from bruises and cuts.

Reps for Mortensen and Paul weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.

On Monday, People confirmed that Paul is being investigated for alleged domestic violence against Mortensen, as filming for “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” has been put on hold.

“Taylor [Frankie Paul] has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens,” a source told the outlet. “Until that resolves, they are off.”

A Draper City, Utah Police Department spokesperson told People “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb.] 24th and 25th” in the alleged incident, noting that accusations had been leveled “in both directions.”

Paul broke her silence over the drama in an interview with People during a press preview for “The Bachelorette” Season 22.

“Just the timing is hard, and it’s a big deal,” she said. “I feel like every premiere that I’ve experienced, I’ve never enjoyed fully, so this is another one… it’s extremely hard, and it took everything to get me here today.”

Then, on Thursday, a video of Paul brutally attacking Mortensen in front of her daughter in 2023 was released by TMZ.

At the time, Paul was arrested after she allegedly threw a chair at Mortensen that instead hit her daughter Indy, now 8, and was subsequently given misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child.

But Paul noted on “Call Her Daddy” in 2025 that the charges “were all dropped” in the case.

Paul has been doing press this week to promote her season of “The Bachelorette,” which was scheduled to premiere on Sunday, March 22.

ABC announced the network had canceled Paul’s season in light of the leaked domestic violence video, telling Page Six, “We have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

Paul and Mortensen dated between 2022 and 2024. She was also married to her ex-husband, Tate Paul, with whom she shares an 8-year-old daughter, Indy, and a son, Ocean, 5.

As was revealed during the Season 4 finale of “SLOMW,” Paul and Mortensen hooked up the night before she left to film the ABC dating show.
