The 2026 Olympics is giving off 2020 vibes.
Following a norovirus outbreak that forced 14 members of Finland’s women’s hockey team to be quarantined and the postponement of Thursday’s scheduled matchup against Canada, Switzerland’s women’s hockey team is now also in isolation after one of its players tested positive for norovirus following its group play game against the Czech Republic on Friday.
The athlete — who has not been named — reportedly did not play in Friday’s game, won by the Swiss, 4-3.

Getty ImagesThe team did not attend the Opening Ceremony, but the Swiss Hockey Federation said no other players have shown symptoms, citing their isolation as a precautionary measure.
Switzerland is scheduled to face Canada — the tournament co-favorite, which could see its second straight game postponed — on Saturday at 9:10 a.m. (local time), then take on Team USA on Monday.

“The affected athlete had been housed in a single room since arriving at the Olympic Village on Monday, February 2, 2026, and isolated from the team since the onset of symptoms,” The Swiss Hockey Federation wrote in a statement.
“She has been symptom-free since this morning. As a precaution, the team was isolated after the game in close consultation with the on-site medical team and after consulting with experts,” the statement continued.
