F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff has recently cast light on what her husband, Toto Wolff, told her following Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes departure. The Brit joined the Ferrari Formula 1 team ahead of the start of the ongoing 2025 season.

Toto Wolff and Lewis Hamilton have a strong bond that was developed over their long tenure together at Mercedes (2013 - 2024). During this time, they amassed several Constructors' and Drivers' Championships.

However, following a dip in performances of Mercedes in the ongoing ground-effect era, Hamilton made the bold move to switch to Ferrari.

This was announced in February 2024, and with quite a decent amount of time having passed since then, Susie Wolff has cast light on her interaction with Toto Wolff surrounding Hamilton and added:

"But Toto's really good about getting his emotions in check quite quickly. And even when Lewis left for Ferrari, I got upset quite quickly as to how it was done, but he said, we're going to be okay, you know, we're going to be friends with Lewis, and this is all going to be okay, just give it time. And he's really good at always seeing the bigger picture and not allowing his emotions to overrun."

The 2025 Formula 1 season is 20 rounds down, and Lewis Hamilton has yet to amass his maiden victory. The seven-time world champion is in sixth place in the drivers' standings and has not even secured a single podium finish.

'Have to dig deep to hold off someone like Max": Lewis Hamilton on 2025 title fight

While Lewis Hamilton has not had the perfect start to life as a Ferrari Formula 1 driver, he recently took the time to talk about the 2025 drivers' championship fight between Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and Max Verstappen.

In line with this, the Brit reminisced about his title tussle from 2021 against Verstappen and even warned the two McLaren drivers:

"In that scenario it's challenging, the pressure is high. It is a time when you have to put your blinkers up and block everything from the outside. You have to be cut-throat and that is what Max is, he is going to take this from them if they don't do the same." (Via: The BBC). "You have to dig deep to hold off someone like Max and the car he is in. But also for either of them to come out ahead, consistency is key, and you've seen that from Max in the last few races."

With only four races remaining, Lando Norris is leading the drivers' championship with 357 points. Oscar Piastri is in second place with 362, and Max Verstappen is in third, having scored 321 points.
